Fantastic news about Hawthorne Garden!
The Board of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority approved a resolution transferring Hawthorne Garden to the Neighborhood Gardens Trust

Last month, the Board of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (PRA) approved a resolution transferring Hawthorne Garden to the Neighborhood Gardens Trust (NGT) with a deed restriction stating that the garden must be used as a community garden. This is wonderful news! It means the garden is protected and won’t be taken away as long as we operate it properly as a garden.
We appreciate all the support you have offered us. We want to celebrate!!! Thanks also to City Council President Kenyatta Johnson for making this wonderful turn of events happen.
